    FAQs

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • How do we prepare for the Excavation/ Earthmoving/ Demolition?

Before proceeding to the Excavation/ Earthmoving/ Demolition process, you should inform your contractor on what to expect of the site. This includes its soil type, utility and power lines, and nearby areas that can have potential hazards.

    • Can anyone perform Excavation?

Any type of Excavation/ Earthmoving/ Demolition involves operation of highly-powered equipment and machines is hazardous and may impose risks on the person using it and its environment. Thus, it should be left to professionals who will complete the job job safely and effectively.

    • Do you have safety standards?

JCB Excavation complies with the standard requirements as stated in the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, Division Work - Excavation Work.

    • What are the risks of Excavation, Earthmoving, and Demolition?

The most common risk encountered during excavation and demolition is damage to underground utilities. If the contractor fails to conduct a pre-inspection of the site, they can hit electrical lines, water pipes, and other utility lines installed within the area while the job takes place. Therefore, leading to accidents and injuries to the people nearby.

Non-compliance to safety standards also leads to exposure to hazardous chemicals and contaminants not only to the operators and the residents but also to the environment.

    • How long does it take to Excavate a Site?

Each Excavation/ Earthmoving/ Demolition project is unique. Hence, we cannot provide a definite time frame to finish the job. However, based on our experience, a typical foundation excavation/ demolition can last for 3 days up to 4 weeks depending on several factors such as size, material, and depth. If you wish to know the timeline for your specific project, you can contact us for a free estimate

    • What kind of equipment do you use for your projects?

We specialise in small to medium projects and use a variety of equipment including a mini excavator and mini dumper to complete a variety of excavation and earthmoving projects.

    • What happens to the Excavation waste after the project is finished?

Non-hazardous wastes acquired during and after Excavation/ Earthmoving/Demolition or anything that goes below ground level piles as dirt. However, typically, they are used for filling and grading holes in other construction works. In some cases, they are also used for landscaping projects.  We can also remove the soil and debries from the site.
